Population benefits

During the project’s period of execution, the development provided an additional income of R$ 5.6 million, in ISS (ISSQN) - Municipal Service Tax - to the seven cities in the area of influence of the three plants.

After initiating operations at the hydroelectric plants, the state of Rio Grande do Sul and the seven cities receive an annual sum of approximately R$ 5.7 million, through royalties. Of these resources, 50% will go to the State and 50% to the cities.

In the trade operation stage, a return of R$ 23 million per year in ICMS (Value-added Tax on Sales and Services) is expected for the cities of Nova Roma do Sul, Veranópolis and Cotiporã, where the machine housing is located.
